Our Mentor Talks program, a joint initiative with OUR NYC, invites mentor figures throughout the city to be interviewed by our student and young adult teams who explore their experiences & advice in the areas of social impact, education, the workplace, networking, skills, internships and resources.

Procedure

WHO

We have an amazing and diverse group of young adult & student team members who are collectively part of the ‘Next Generation’ network. For the interviews, we try to keep the teams small and roughly between 2-4 members for a given guest.

WHAT

The interviews are posted on Mentors.nyc as well as host and partner sites and social media. Guests are encouraged to post to their social media and sites as well. We aim to accumulate an extensive library spanning the areas that the next generation will benefit from.

WHEN

In terms of scheduling, in the registration form below guests are able to share 3 options as to when they are available. Providing all three dates/times is recommended to make coordinating with the different interview team members easier

WHERE

Currently we are interviewing and recording guests on Zoom.

HOW

Some of our Nextgen team members themselves developed the standard interview questions linked below based on what they hope to learn from the generation before them and it is typically young adult and students who conduct the interviews.

WHY

What we have found is that so many students and young adults lack sources of information and guidance on areas and potential careers of interest to them. Our Mentor Talks library is a platform that is easy to access and can pass on the great wealth of experience and advice from one generation to the next.

Interview Questions
